Welcome to Miss Black Clarksville
As a senior at Austin Peay State University Middle College, Jaliyah obtained the most coveted title of Miss Black Clarksville over 8 other contestants. During the pageant, Miss Peterson’s beauty and poise showed instantly as she walked onto the stage.
During the sports wear portion, Jaliyah was a matador ready to enter the area in a black velvet hat known as a Matera. She wore a white satin chemise with black velvet waistband and a yellow sash, and her shoes were black patent leather. Jaliyah carried the mu-le-ta used matadors during the final stage of the bullfight. The crowd yelled, “Ole.”
Jaliyah’s talent consisted of three parts: an original monologue, spoken words to included a song “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child, “ and a dance to the song “You Deserve My Worship" by Crystal Rucker.
The formal wear portion was where Jaliyah’s natural beauty shined through. She wore a lime green, floor length gown. The strapless lace sweetheart bodice was adorned with silver crystals.The skirt was cascaded with ruffles with a knee high split. The train of ruffles left a lasting impression. Jaliyah wore silver and rhinestone jewelry,and she wore silver and rhinestone ankle strap stiletto heeled shoes.
